This year we have chosen to host both annual retreats in beautiful Negril, Jamaica. Located on the western coast where this powerful island greets us each and every new day with coconut-tree-kissed sunrises, breathtaking coastal sea views and endless smiles, all backed by lush green-carpeted mountains, turquoise water, and white sand beaches. This is the perfect destination for the ideal wellness retreat and a life changing wholistic educational initiative.
THE POINT VILLAGE
THE POINT VILLAGE is named after the rocky point that juts out into the sea, offering stunning views of uninterrupted oceanic horizons. Access to the development is via a reserved road, which extends a full quarter mile away from the main road and leads to The Point Village’s “one-way-in one-way-out” 24 hour Security Checkpoint Entrance. The property is patrolled around the clocked and tucked away from the crowds of tourists, which makes it an ideal place to let your guard down and escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
“ON THE SAND”
The resort features two private beaches (one main beach and one nude beach), both with plenty of complementary beach chairs to take it all in. Enjoy two natural rock salt pools nestled atop the coral bed that constantly takes in fresh water from the incoming waves of the sea itself. There’s a nice size traditional swimming pool, and plenty of open sand or grass for yoga and group activities. In fact, the property boasts of a few well manicured grass fields, about 3 inches-high, that feel like thick, soft, shaggy carpet under your bare feet. There’s a cool volleyball net set up right on the sand, plus some laid back or competitive tennis over at the court- all perfect for team building exercises. The Point Village’s access to the famous Seven Mile Beach also makes it a great destination for those who love long walks on the beach, or to simply explore for rare treasures among local Jamaican craft shops. Horseback riding is another popular activity, allowing retreaters to explore the beach from a different perspective.
“IN THE WATER”
There are various recreational activities to be held in the “wata” at The Point such as meditative snorkeling above the slowly returning colorful coral, countless types of fish to marvel at with every turn, and majestic sea turtles and nocturnal octopus (if you’re lucky and patient enough). There’s even a cave you can swim into where three types of gentle, friendly stingray like to hang out. In addition, there are numerous kayaks available right here at The Point for renting. Short to long distance kayaking giving you the chance to explore the coastline at your own pace. Join us on a powerful early morning swim or kayak over to the exotic Booby Cay island, where you’ll be greeted with fresh coconut water and a hot bushman grill for “ital sip” (veggie soup/stew) if you’ve worked up an appetite. Back up Seven Mile Beach you have sailboating, scuba diving, paddleboarding, and parasailing, just a few of the activities that you can enjoy on this retreat.
